Markus Gmachl As founder of arte vida, Markus is committed in developing the yoga community through the activities and celebrations within arte vida yoga & wellness.
He came across Yoga a few years ago (2005), what turned out to be a path that has led him to many teachers and wonderful places: Bali (Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training), Pune/India (Iyengar Yoga), Mysore/India (Ashtanga Yoga), Goa and retreats in Italy and Spain.
The time he spent in Rishikesh, a holy place on the River Ganges and at the foot of the Himalayas, made him see what it means to come back to the place where we (independently from our outer circumstances) find peace within ourselves: the heart. Many times our intellect, body, expectations, preferences, dislikes and fears block this path. Yoga gives us the possibility to free ourselves from the barriers that stop us; it allows us to experience ourselves differently, the way we truly are: free, full of love and happiness; without conditioning, without fear
